  19.   This is a short text file I put together for the purpose of quick access
  20.   to codes, addon levels, and LMP demos.  There are some other premium
  21.   text files and helpful things to make your DOOMing experience more 
  22.   exciting which are listed below!

  35.                                 Game Palace bbs

  37.   Game Palace started on 04/07/94 as a small bbs for users to obtain the
  38.   latest patches and upgrades available for PC Games.  I personally got
  39.   tired of calling long distance to get the latest patch or upgrade and
  40.   figured a bbs would help.  I have never ran a bbs prior to this and I
  41.   just got my first modem in December of 1993.  (Yes, I'm a newbie!) <g>
  42.  
  43.   As a DOOM addict, I figured why not cater to this awesome game.  There
  44.   were alot files out and more coming!  I started by adding one file area
  45.   for DOOM on the board, but that wasn't enough.  I now have 7 file areas
  46.   devoted to DOOM and will probably have to add more in the future.
  47.   I gained users from all over the U.S., Canada, Japan, Europe, etc.
  48.   In 2 months!  The demand for DOOM had increased so much, I had to delete
  49.   alot of other files to make room on my hard drive.
  50.   Unfortunately, I only have one computer so I don't get to play as much
  51.   as I would like to.

  53.   Right now as of this writing, I have over 500 WADS and 96+ megs of DOOM
  54.   files online.  Since I get so many new DOOM files daily, I created a 
  55.   "DOOMlist" which contains all the DOOM files on Game Palace bbs.  This
  56.   is updated nightly!  It is called "DOOMLIST.ZIP"

  63.   Long distance users are given immediate access to the bbs and files!
  64.   There are no upload/download ratios and the bbs is FREE!  Users can
  65.   be upgraded by request to allow for more time and downloads per day.

  70.   There are certain keys you can use to gain access to some wonderful 
  71.   things in DOOM.  Type these while playing the game.  Here they are:

  73.   IDDQD                        Degreelessness mode (Invincible)
  74.   IDKFA                        Very Happy Ammo (Full stock of weapons &
  75.                                                 ammo)
  76.   IDBEHOLD   (follow it by S, V, I, R, A, L)
  77.        S----Strength (Beserk mode)
  78.        V----Invunerability
  79.        I----Partial Invicibility
  80.        R----Radiation Suit
  81.        A----Auto Map
  82.        L----Light Amplifiers

  84.  IDCHOPPERS                    Gives you the Chainsaw
  85.  IDCLEV                        Warp (followed by Episode and Level)
  86.  IDDT                          Map Mode (Enter it while viewing map)
  87.  IDMYPOS                       X, Y Coordinates
  88.  IDSPISPOPD                    No clipping (Walk through walls)

  91.                                 Command Lines
  92.  
  93.  There are command lines within DOOM that can be used when intially 
  94.  running the game.  For more information on exactly what all of 
  95.  these lines mean, pick up "The 'Official' DOOM FAQ" by Hank Leukart.

  97.  At the DOOM directory type:   "DOOM -devparm <parameter>
  98.  These can be several followed by eachother for various effects such
  99.  as warping, recording a demo, respawning monsters, or taking .PCX
  100.  screenshots.

  102.  -config <filename>          Reads alternate configuration file
  103.  -deathmatch                 Starts NetDoom in Deathmatch mode
  104.  -debugfile <parameter>      Dumps debugging into debug<parm>.txt
  105.  -devparm                    Developers mode
  106.  -episode <episode>          Starts on Episode 1,2, or 3
  107.  -file <name.wad>            Allows usage of PWAD
  108.  -left                       Sets up a network terminal for the "left view"
  109.  -loadgame <game number>     Starts from save game # 0-5
  110.  -net <players>              Starts NetDoom with 1-4 players     
  111.  -noblit                     Speeds up game on some systems
  112.  -nodraw                     Speeds up game on some systems
  113.  -nojoy                      Does not use joystick
  114.  -nomonsters                 Starts games without monsters
  115.  -nomouse                    Does not use mouse
  116.  -nomusic                    No background music
  117.  -nosfx                      No sound effects
  118.  -nosound                    No sound at all
  119.  -playdemo <name w/o .lmp>   Playback a recorded demo
  120.  -record <name w/o .lmp>     Record a demo til you die or finish
  121.  -recordfrom <0-5><demo name>Records from a saved game 
  122.  -respawn                    Cause enemies to respawn in Non-Nightmare game
  123.  -right                      Sets up NetDoom terminal for "right view"
  124.  -skill <skill level>        Starts on skill level 1-5 
  125.  -timedemo <name w/o .lmp>   Caculates screen redraw times in demo
  126.  -wart <episode> <level>     Adds an external PWAD file to filelist
  127.  -warp <episode> <levle>     Warp to any Episode and Level

  129.                           PWADS (Addon external levels)
  130.  
  131.  PWADS are external levels made by people with level editors.  These
  132.  PWADS ("Patch" WADS) are inserted with the command line "-file" and
  133.  allow you to play a new level!  For complete information on PWADS,
  134.  check out "The 'official' DOOM FAQ" by Hank Leukart or "DOOMWAD"
  135.  by Steve Huskisson.  "DOOMWAD" is available at Game Palace BBS.

  139.  To run a PWAD file, make sure the new level is in your DOOM directory 
  140.  and from there type:
  141.  
  142.  "DOOM -file <xxxx.wad>"        
  143.  
  144.  Where the xxxx is, substitute with the name of the PWAD, and include
  145.  the .WAD extension.
  146.  An example would be:  "DOOM -file cool.wad"
  147.  
  148.  You can combine PWADS in one line.
  149.  There are also sound files on PWADS that are ran the same way.

  151.                                 LMP (Demos)
  152.  
  153.  An .lmp file is a recording of a game of DOOM, either single player or
  154.  a deathmatch game.  You can even make a recording of your favorite
  155.  PWAD file.  These are fun to sit back and watch, as your friends dueled
  156.  on Deathmatch, or if you need to know where secret rooms are!
  157.  
  158.  To record a demo type at the DOOM directory:

  160.  DOOM -devparm -record <demo name w/o .lmp>
  161.  
  162.  Do not include the .lmp.

  164.  To record your favorite PWAD type at the DOOM directory:

  166.  DOOM -file <pwad.wad> -devparm -record <demo name w/o .lmp>

  168.  To play back the demo type at the DOOM directory:

  183.  cheats, etc.  That allow so much to be done with DOOM.  Most are listed
